Why a Grassroots Movement?

What is grassroots action? Who are the "grass roots"? Political discourse is an American tradition which found its roots in the United States Constitution. Every American is guaranteed the right to engage our government on the issues. That is exactly what grassroots action is.
We become part of the political process when we express our views on public issues so our elected representatives know what we as voters are thinking. Thus, in an abstract sense, every AIAA member is a part of the political process, or can be. Of course, AIAA has a small staff of government relations specialists to monitor legislation on Capitol Hill and to keep you informed about what's happening. But as voters and as concerned members of the community, you are AIAA's best voice. You live and work and vote for-or against-your own elected officials, and they must be responsive to your views.

When AIAA's membership mobilizes fully, we become a formidable team
