The 1999-2000 Council held a retreat at Rancho Martinez in San Jose on Saturday, July 31st.The purpose was to :
1) Create sub-committees for the various section responsibilities and assign volunteers.
2) Discuss possible dinner meetings and special programs
3) Create action items
4) Eat food and drink beer
The Chair speaks: I decided this year to divide tasks up by sub-committees with one director to manage the affairs but with enough help that none of us feel overwhelmed. Each of us should all be on at least a couple of committees. We are, as usual, short on people so we can either apply our efforts to a handful of areas or do a little bit in everything; which ever works better. (I think the jury is out on that one still.) I have listed the committees below with members, some arbitrarily and haphazardly assigned by executive privilege. If you feel you are on the wrong committee, you don't have enough to do, have too much to do or just want to keep me on my toes, please let me know. Also, look at my crude descriptions and see if they make sense.
The Council Officer Slate is finalized. Matt Jardin agreed to be Vice-Chair this year, which will make him Chairman next year, Gano agreed to be Secretary this year and a nominee for the Vice-Chair election next year. Awesome!
Look at the action items below, please. Look at the open items as well. Am I missing something?
Steve
