Chairman’s Report as reported by Vice chair- Prasad
We will need to do a membership drive shortly.
Determination of amount of funds available in Galileo Scholarships and the number of scholarships we can give this year. Finalize the applicants. Srini to coordinate with Fanny.
Todd to settle the accounts with NASA Ames for the Nov 03 dinner meeting at the Hiller Aviation Museum. Need to do this by 4/16/04. If there are any snags, Fanny will be available and must close this by 4/23/04. There is a danger of funds expiring and we may never be paid.
Vice-Chairman’s Report
Hiller Museum deposit for June Meeting due 5/23/03
Elections for new Officers need to be held.
The current Vice Chair moves into the Chairman’s slot. I have sent e-mail to the council members to express their choices. I have not heard from them voluntarily. I have started calling people and will be able to assemble a slate of candidates in 2 weeks. The ballot format we used last year was good. We will use the same. Prasad to present a slate of candidates.
Treasurer’s Report as reported by Rick

Rick reported that he retrieved from our Mail Box, a cheque from AGI for $1500, dated Nov 22, 2003 for sponsoring the dinner meeting in Nov, 2003.
Programs Committee
(Confirmed) 15 April (Ramada Inn) – David Levinson, Men in Space.
(Confirmed) 27 May (Ramada Inn) – “Moon Habitation,” Susmita Mohanty, Moon Habitat Inc. This is the month when we have the Galileo Memorial Scholarships for the High School essay contest winners
24 June (Hiller Museum) – Honors and Awards Dinner Meeting. AIAA Distinguished Speaker being procured by the Western Regions Office Museum has been reserved. Prasad to follow up with Western Regions office for the DL.
22 July (Ramada Inn) – Michael Green, NASA Ames, Space Transportation systems.
Aug – No meeting
23 Sep (Ramada Inn) – Jeff Colvin, Secret of Successful Networking. Kay to follow up with the speaker.
we want to do a dinner meeting on Spitzer Space Telescope (formerly SIRTF) . Who has contacts to get a speaker on this subject?
Evolution of Flight Committee as reported by Rick
Gano has one DVD which he showed at the Nov 03 dinner meeting at the Hiller Museum.
He is working with other living legends.
NASA Ames Summer Lecture Series Section involvement. Seth and Fanny in discussions with Education Office Art Fluter for speakers. Seth has identified Alex Jefferson and Juanita as possible speakers. Venue may be the MTCC but due to the increased security, Ames Education Office may look for other locations.
What is the status of this? Fanny to report next time the status of NASA Ames Summer Lecture Series?

Rick is arranging technical presentations from the AIAA technical committee on May 26-28 at the NASA Ames Conference Center.

Rick expressed concern that Todd being a civil servant will have Conflict of Interest issues for him to take active roll in the PPC. We need to have him train somebody else. Kay Sundaram is going to the Congressional Visit Day, Apr 19-21. Would Kay Sundaram want to be the Chair of our PPC?

Srini ordered the Gifts (24 Coffee Mugs) for the dinner speakers. Will be delivered to Todd.
