Being interviewed or interviewing... How to do it well

Steven Cerri
STCerri International

Summary

Interviews!!!

Your ability to successfully be interviewed or your ability to conduct an interview… these two capabilities are more important today than they have ever been.

If you are being interviewed do you know how to connect with the person or persons who are interviewing you? Do you know how to influence the direction of the interview in your favor? Do you know how to extract the information you need to determine if you want to work at this company and with these people?

If you are the interviewer, do you know how to conduct an interview so that you get honest answers from the interviewee even if the answers could be damaging to the interviewee's chances of being hired? Do you know how to make the interviewee comfortable and still get the information you want? Do you know how to evaluate the real-work expectations of the interviewee?

Most of the current information people have access to regarding interviews is old information, just repackaged for the present moment. Most of the information is transmitted and taught by people who have never managed, never interviewed others, and never had to make the difficult management decisions that lead from interviewing to hiring.

AIAA will host a very different presentation titled "Being interviewed or interviewing… How to do it well". Join us for a presentation by Steven Cerri on how to successfully influence the interviewing process if you are being interviewed, and how to conduct a successful, information-rich interview if you are the interviewer.

About the Speaker

Steven Cerri

Steven is an aeronautical engineer and geophysicist, with an MBA who has been managing high-technology organization for over 20 years. In this informative presentation, Steven will share with you not only some of the latest issues regarding interviewing, but also years of real-world experience regarding what works and what doesn't.

For example, as a manager, when Steven conducted interviews, he was always able to gain information and insight about the interviewee that other managers were unable to get. And when he was interviewed himself, as a possible employee, he impressed the interviewers with his command of the interview process to the extent that he always received an offer after an interview. The choice of employment was then his.

Join us on February 25th for an informative and useful (especially in these times) presentation, on "Being interviewed or interviewing… How to do it well".
