Corky served as the Chairman of the San Francisco Section in 1978-1979 after moving through most Section Officer and Council positions in that era of the local AIAA activities. Before 1968 he belonged to the Section at Vandenberg Air Force Base as an American Rocket Society member. At that formative time of the AIAA and space exploration, he attended the XIVth International Astronautical Congress in Paris, France as a representative of the local section. More recently, since retiring from Lockheed, he has resumed participation in Section Activities.
Corky founded LEO.COM the first of 1998 to promote and exploit Low Earth Orbit satellite constellations as the-next-big-thing in communication technology. He sees great potential for these space-based networks to help satisfy the current demand for wide-bandwith digital signal transmission. This endeavor is very much in keeping with his motto: "Space is the Answer."
